The Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) is a grass roots non-profit organisation formed in 1994 to link ecovillages and related projects worldwide. We aim to create and promote viable human settlements that allow people to live healthy, fulfilled lives in harmony with the environment, as well as providing work opportunities and financial security.

GEN has three regional administrative centres. The Oceania/Asia region - serving Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific (including Hawaii) and all of Asia is based in Crystal Waters Permaculture Village, Australia. GEN Oceania/Asia Inc (GENOA Inc) is a non profit incorporated association and offers a range of information, consultancy and educational services.

Crystal Waters Community Living Association (CLAss) is a not-for-profit educational association promoting the positive aspects of sustainability, intentional community living and permaculture to all ages. We run day tours for primary schools, secondary schools, TAFE groups and other special interest groups. Short overnight stays are available. We have created an internationally distributed DVD introducing Crystal Waters, the principles of permaculture and real bread.
