The Crystal Waters Visitors Camping Area lies between two wooded gullies, with magnificent grey gums creating dappled shade. The area is alive with the sound of Bell Miners and other forest-dwelling birds. Roos and wallabies often spend their days in the cool shaded areas here.
You may choose just to take it easy in the quiet bushland setting. Or you can take time to check out what it is like to live in an intentional community, or to learn something about Permaculture. (Weekends, or stays of around a week or more, are best if you want to experience community life.) WWOOFers are always welcome at Crystal Waters. Though work is usually available, it cannot be guaranteed unless you make prior arrangements with a WWOOF host. A stay in the Visitors Camping Area can often result in work being offered.

Social Activities Many community members get together at the village cafe on Friday nights for a meal or on Sunday mornings for brunch. We have several residents who cater on a regular basis for these events. There have been a number of Crystal Waters concerts and theme nights, (often as fundraisers) and these are well supported and always great fun. Several residents are talented musicians and performers, and impromptu jamming sessions around the fireplace in the village area are fairly common. Visitors are most welcome to any of these occasions. Social activity within Crystal Waters is thriving and often takes place in private homes. Various groups have formed around interests such as music, farming, tree planting, community dynamics, eating, yoga, and religious and spiritual activities. Community working bees often finish up with a bbq or shared meal, where everyone brings a dish. See many photos of past community and social events HERE. Recreational Activities Tours of Crystal Waters can be arranged, see the tours page here. Fishing: Most of our small lakes have been stocked with Silver Perch, Golden Perch and Catfish. (Please note: a license from the Body Corporate is required in order to fish in Crystal Waters lakes.) Crystal Waters is an excellent base for short and long bush walks within the property and in the nearby forestry and National Parks, such as the Conondales National Park, with ample opportunities for wildlife and bird watching. The beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast are only an hours drive away. See a listing of the wildlife to be seen in Crystal Waters and surrounding regions here. |
